Welcome to Tar in theHouse of Traditional Gastronomy– the first station on aculinary journey through Istria and other Croatian regions.
This interpretation centre, part of the Eco Museum of Olive Oil project, gives visitors the opportunity to learn more about traditional Istrian dishes and wines through a multimedia-based interactive approach, to taste and buy local products from Istria, Dalmatia and Slavonia, and to obtain information so that they canexplore Istrian and Croatian cuisine for themselves.
Istria is known for its olive and winegrowing tradition as well as its local food and dishes that are still served in typical konoba-style taverns and restaurants. In Tar, you cansample local products in an authentic atmosphere and prepare yourself for aculinary journey through Istria and Croatia.
